A second Marine squad visited New York to see whether a Clinton lookalike surfaced at Lee’s memorial.

Both teams had clear rules of engagement. First, figure out whether the imposters were clones or human actors. If clones, “unalive” them; if actors, make an arrest.

Moreover, the meeting appeared clandestine because neither the Justice Dept. nor DeSantis’ camp publicly mentioned the gathering.

The White Hat partition of the U.S. military said the FBI—assisted by local law enforcement in Red states—has targeted Trump supporters using a practice called “civil asset forfeiture,” whereby unconstitutional laws allow law enforcement to seize property, money, or assets if police merely believe it is connected to criminal activity. Police do not have to file charges or even prove guilt in these cases before seizing and keeping property, and there is no limit to what police can take. Federal forfeiture law gives law enforcement a strong monetary interest in asset seizures. Under the Department of Justice’s equitable sharing program, state and local law enforcement that turn over seized property to the federal government can pocket up to 80 percent of the forfeiture proceeds. Additionally, federal law does not require collecting or reporting data on state, local, or federal seizures.

The Defense Department has finally laid out its plan for protecting its cyber networks after years of pledging to make it a commitment.

The Office of the Chief Information Officer released “The DoD Zero Trust Strategy” in November — which laid out metrics and deadlines for the department to achieve full zero trust adoption by 2027. Cybersecurity experts said the government and private sector should work together to leverage resources to successfully enter the new regime.

Ford Motor Company filed a US patent application that shows autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles could potentially repossess themselves if their owners miss lease or loan payments. If a driver misses a car payment, the vehicle will disable air conditioning, radio, GPS, and cruise control to irritate the driver. The car would emit an “incessant and unpleasant sound.” Worse, the vehicle might lock out the driver on certain days until payments are made. If payments continue to be missed, the vehicle could drive to a safe, nearby location for a repo team to seize it and avoid confrontation with the owner.

Experts from Texas A&M University and Carnegie Mellon University say that the air quality in and around East Palestine, Ohio, is poor, containing “higher than normal” concentrations of as many as nine different harmful chemicals.

Using their own mobile testing unit, the scientists have been collecting air samples near the site of the Norfolk Southern train crash. Meanwhile, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) continues to reassure the public that East Palestine is safe.

While the nine detected chemicals are not necessarily an “immediate health concern,” the experts warn that repeated and continued exposure to them over a prolonged period of time could damage people’s health.
