Some time back I wrote an article titled Grace Before The Cross. This was in response to an outright heretical teaching I saw put out by a high-profile television ministry that said “before the cross, there was no grace”. Obviously, a proper study of Scripture reveals that grace is found all throughout the Tanakh (The Hebrew Bible that most Christians, wrongly, call the “Old Testament”).
Kingdom vision, part 11
The idea that the earthly Jerusalem is an “eternal city” that will never be destroyed is a fallacy that blinds many Jews and Christians today and prevents them from having a clear Kingdom vision. Jeremiah’s prophetic act of smashing the old jar representing Jerusalem—“this people and this city,” Jeremiah 19:11—is seldom taught in Bible studies.
Kingdom vision, part 12
One of the main callings of John the Baptist was to inspect the “tree” of Judah to see if it could or would bear fruit (Matthew 3:8-10; Luke 3:9). After he was executed by Herod, Jesus took up the task, and it appears that this inspection was to take place over a period of three or four years. So near the end of Jesus’ ministry, we read…
Hosea Chapters 12 through 14
Throughout the prophecy, we have seen a common theme, which is also common in the other Biblical prophets: that the children of Israel were about to suffer a great calamity, and were being cast off from the Kingdom and polity of Yahweh their God because of their sin, but that they had a promise of a later reconciliation in Christ.
The Prophecy of Zechariah – Part 1, Visions Near and Far
The writing of the book of Zechariah the prophet can be dated rather accurately to begin about 520 BC, during the reign of the Persian king known as Darius the Great. Zechariah was one of three post-captivity prophets whose writing we have in our Bibles. The others are Haggai and Malachi. According to Haggai himself, the written records of his prophecy were initiated just over two months before those of…
Paths of Old – Ancient Paths
Jeremiah 6:16; 18:15; Acts 15:21
“Thus said יהוה (Yahweh), “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and find rest for yourselves….” (Jeremiah 6:16)
“But My people have forgotten Me, they have burned incense to what is false, and they have stumbled from their ways, from the ancient paths, to walk in bypaths and not on a highway.” (Jeremiah 18:15)
Regular public reading of the Torah was introduced by Ezra the Scribe after the return of the Jewish people from their Babylonian captivity (c. 537 BCE), as described in the Book of Nehemiah 8. In the modern era, adherents of Orthodox Judaism practice Torah reading according to a set procedure they believe has remained unchanged in the two thousand years since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem (70 CE).
“For from ancient generations Mosheh has, in every city, those proclaiming him – being read in the congregations every Sabbath.” (Acts 15:21)

11 Ominous Predictions For 2023
There is a growing consensus that 2023 is going to be a miserable year for the U.S. economy and for the global economy as a whole.
In fact, in all the years that I have been writing I have never seen so many big names on Wall Street be so incredibly pessimistic about the coming year. Of course much of that pessimism is due to the fact that 2022 went so poorly.
The cryptocurrency industry imploded, trillions of dollars in stock market wealth evaporated, inflation became a major problem all over the industrialized world, and a new housing crash suddenly erupted.
Israeli strikes on Syrian capital’s airport kill four: monitor
Israeli missile strikes on the Syrian capital’s airport Monday killed four people including two soldiers and closed the runways for several hours, a rights monitor said.
This is the second time in less than seven months that Damascus International Airport — where Iranian-backed armed groups and Lebanese Hezbollah fighters are present — has been hit by Israel.
Third Temple Baby Steps - Temple Activists Petition For Passover Sacrifice
In the wake of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir ascending to the Temple Mount to commemorate the Tenth of Tevet on Tuesday, the Return to the Mount activist group petitioned the minister to permit the Biblical Passover offering at Judaism’s holiest site.
Rafael Morris, the head of Return to the Mount, told Israel365 News that there is actually strong grassroots support for reinstating the Passover offering on the Temple Mount.
“We have lots of people, private and even in the government, that support this quietly but who are scared to say so in public,” Morris said. “And there’s no reason why we shouldn’t do it.”
Former Pope Benedict XVI, the first pontiff to resign in 600 years, dies at 95
Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, the Bavarian-born theologian whose conservative Roman Catholicism earned him the nickname “God’s Rottweiler,” and who shocked his flock by suddenly resigning the papacy after just eight years, died Saturday, the Vatican said.
He was 95.
Benedict was the longest-living pope, having surpa ssed Pope Leo XIII in September 2020.
